This year the Schneider Cup took place on Saturday October 27th. The 12 hour marathon started at 8 AM with amazing weather and great spirits. According to the tradition, the event featured BBQ and live music by Sylvester Schneider's brass and accordion band, the JaJaJa's.
After a very well disputed quarter-final played against the 2011 champions Schneider Gelb, Schneider Weiss went on to win the trophy. The final was played against old foes and trainning partners at the East River fields - the New York Knuckleheads, soundly beat by a score of 6 to 2. In third palce came Schneider Grün, edging F.C. Long Island City on penalties.
Following a series of delays caused by Hurricane Sandy, the Trophy Celebration happened on Sunday November 11.
